I thought you might be shallow enough to just look at a single stat like total yards passing
If you use a composite stat, which is better, but not perfect, then Ryan comes in @ 23, Tannehill @ 25, which would be more in line with what knowledgeable people would rate them.
Give it up...
Your "theory" is just FLAT WRONG

So you're going to stick with the idea that:
only the elite QB's matter... and parity is a myth
even though half of the elite QB's will not be in the playoffs
And 50% of the time a team with a losing record comes back the following year to make the playoff
Those FACTS fly in the face of your stupid theory

If you look at the top 15 QBs by QBR this year, you will see 11 of the 12 playoff teams represented. Only one not represented is Denver who has maybe the best defense in the league. Am assuming that Indy won't make it with these calculations since 10 things need to happen for both to get in playoffs. Both Jets and Pitt QBs are in top 15.
If you look at the top 15 QBs by QBR in 2014, you will see 9 of the 12 playoff teams represented. Arizona did not have a QB have enough passes to officially qualify for QBR stats but would have been top 15 if taking the combination of QBs. Only two others not represented were Carolina (who won their division with a 7-8-1 record) and Cin (who got to play the NFC South and AFC South)
If you look at the top 15 QBs by QBR in 2013, you will see 11 of the 12 playoff teams represented. Only one not represented was KC who gave up the fewest points in the AFC.
Generally, you need to have the best QBs that year to make the playoffs. If your defense is top notch or are in a horrible division, you may also have a chance.
That might be one of the worst rankings I have ever seen. Please support your argument with something a little better than that trash.
It is laughable you have names such as Stafford, Tannehill, Manning, and Ryan above Wilson, Newton, Rodgers, and Roethlisberger.
Um...
Its right off the NFL statistical quarterback chart...
Measured the same way the NFL measures Running backs wide receivers and Tight ends
If you're looking for "intangibles" and things like "Scramble yards on designed run plays inside the opponents field goal range on third downs" you'll need to go to the Russell Wilson fan page...
This one is just statistical data

Just looked. Since 2010, this is the amount of wild cards per division:
AFC East - 1
AFC North - 7
AFC South - 1
AFC West - 3
NFC East - 0
NFC North - 5
NFC South - 3
NFC West - 4
Between 2002 (the year they went to 4 divisions and 2 WC teams) to 2009, this is the amount of wild cards per division:
AFC East - 3
AFC North - 5
AFC South - 5
AFC West - 3
NFC East - 9
NFC North - 2
NFC South - 3
NFC West - 2
Interestingly enough, NFC West did not have a wild card team for 7 straight years from 2005 through 2011 and has had 1 per year since then. NFC East is now at 6 straight and AFC East is now at 5 straight. AFC West went 6 straight without a WC team from 2007-2012.

Well, the Eagles would've picked 8th if they didn't blow this game. Might be the difference between getting the 3rd best OT in the draft versus one of the top two at that position, assuming the Eagles do the right thing and draft an offensive lineman. But yeah, having to go to Seattle now versus playing the Rams in London is a definite blunder by this team. Where was all this professional pride when they were losing games earlier this year?

I am pretty sure they would have been 10th like the Giants. They would have had the same record as teams 8-11. Tiebreak is SOS in reverse order (so team that played the worst schedule goes first out of the group since that makes them the worst team of the group).
8- Miami - SOS = .469
9 - TB - SOS = .484
10 - Philly - SOS = .508 (would have been slightly higher if Giants won but no difference in placement)
11- Chicago - SOS = .547 (toughest in the NFL)
