against 100 win team and a 103 win team
Strong record against quality opponents
Boston's ELO rating, calculated by 538.com, is trending at all-time levels. The Sox are currently at 1597. A World Series win would vault them to over 1600 as their final 2018 rating. That's pretty rarified air. Only 17 teams in MLB history have finished at 1600 or higher. Depending on the scores, a sweep might register enough to surpass the 1610 final score registered by the 1998 NY Yankees. If that happens, it will be interesting what the Sox composite ELO score will be, since the '98 Yankees composite score of 1609 ranks as the 5th best score ever, and the highest ever in the Integrated Era. This is an historic season for the Sox.

This Red Sox team could also become the 1969 Baltimore Orioles...

One of least interesting World Series in recent history. Two big market, big dollar teams. Been watching the World Series for 50 years, and this one I won't even try and give a damn about.

Technically last year had even bigger markets...

Houston brought a level of interest, being a first time winner, and #17 in team salary last year. However, they have moved up to #9 this year.
