NFL Power Ranking Heading into Week 9
/// The top 4
1) New England Patriots
2) Denver Broncos
3) Cincinnati Bengals
4) Carolina Panthers
/// Strong but with issues / Likely to finish season with double digits in win column
5) Arizona Cardinals
6) Green Bay Packers
7) Minnesota Vikings
8) Atlanta Falcons
In the mix - could go either way:
Sink back -or- rise to the top / capable of going on a run of wins
9) Saint Louis Rams / Have beaten some good teams
10) Oakland Raiders / Played the powerful Broncos to the final minute
11) NY Giants / Their loses mostly could have gone either way
12) New Orleans Saints / Now Rolling
13) Seattle Seahawks / Tough but sneaking buy

NFL Power Rankings ((Heading into Week 10)
The Undefeated:
1) New England Patriots
2) Cincinnati Bengals
3) Carolina Panthers
Tough to Beat... Win consistently
4) Denver Bronco's
5) Arizona Cardinals
6) Minnesota Vikings
Better than their Record...
7) Green Bay Packers
Not as good as their record...
8) NY Jets
9) Atlanta Falcons
Injuries will kill their chances:
Minnesota / If Bridgewater is out for a while they might struggle
Pittsburgh / If Big Ben is gone for another month they are done

The Puckers should unequivocally be in the "not as good as their record" category.

They look like a 12-4 team to me
Its hard to win back to back road games against top division leaders in the NFL

I once read:

Well It's pretty much all happened

This just in:
Russel Wilson is really good. He's completing nearly 80% of his passes the last three games, has thrown 2 td's, and has run for another today.
How not to beat the Hawk's D...4 straight penalties to have it 1st and 40. Oh...and Peterson has like 20 yards on 10 rushes.

Wilson just ran one in from 50 yards. Called back for holding so he turns around and throws a 50 yarded to Baldwin on the next play.
17-21, 233 yards 3 td's, 1 rushing.
35-7 Hawks.

Bump.
With the Bills and Pats remaining, the Jets have a tougher path than the Steelers or the Chiefs.
The NFC is pretty much locked up and playing for position.

Plus even if they win out, Jets need help by having either Steelers or Chiefs lose (or having the Chiefs overtake the Broncos for the Division)kalm wrote:Bump.

NFC is basically locked up except for the NFC East

Except for the NFC Mid-Atlantic. All three teams with a shot. And not unreasonable ones.kalm wrote:Bump.

Until yesterday. Need a win next Sunday against Tampa to ensure home field in the playoffs. The streak was fun, but I'd rather they lose now than later. Arizona may be playing the best of anyone right now.CID1990 wrote:Panthers aren't pretty but they keep finding ways to win

As Eli showed last week and Ryan yesterday, if the QB can get protection, you can torch Carolina's secondary. Josh Norman is highly overrated. Julio Jones abused him like a runaway slave yesterday.AshevilleApp wrote:Until yesterday. Need a win next Sunday against Tampa to ensure home field in the playoffs. When Julio is healthy (which he is finally) he cannot be single covered by ANYBODY - periodBaldy wrote:As Eli showed last week and Ryan yesterday, if the QB can get protection, you can torch Carolina's secondary. A basic "over under" style double coverage would have worked fine
The Panthers will not make that mistake again
They played something like a Nickle 40 and it didn't really work
and they did not adjust much away from that
This (below) Standard over under double (see bottom wide out coverage)
would have worked fine

At least when Minnesota loses to teams like Denver and Arizona it's competitive.
They can also manage to beat the dog shit that is the bottom two of the NFC North

He was double covered on his 70 yd TD reception yesterday, Mr. 12-4 Packer fan.Chizzang wrote:When Julio is healthy (which he is finally) he cannot be single covered by ANYBODY - periodBaldy wrote: As Eli showed last week and Ryan yesterday, if the QB can get protection, you can torch Carolina's secondary. Actually I'm not much of a Packers fan - in fact they are damn near my least favorite teamBaldy wrote:He was double covered on his 70 yd TD reception yesterday, Mr. 12-4 Packer fan.Chizzang wrote:

I simply "believe" in their system, however it is failing them this season which I find very surprising
Missing your top wide out should not sink the ship as it has for them this season
Jordy Nelson should re-negotiate his contract
because apparently they are damn near a .500 team without him
One Hail Mary and a weak schedule away from mediocre...
Julio was double covered a few times but pro-football focus says on only 14 snaps

Re: NFL Power Ranking (week-by-week)
The reason Rodgers was always so effective throwing those bombs on the run is because they were to one of the best security blankets in the league, Nelson. He isn't there for that anymore. Scrambling lanes are still there but not as big. Teams aren't afraid of any of those WR in one on one situations down field of the play breaks down.
The again, I'm not the professional. Just a guy who has followed the NFC North extremely close his entire life.
