Wasn't able to watch much of the race yet. Sucks for Truex, my 2nd fav driver after Junior. Took many mistakes and bad luck (think 24 of 32 races now had issues). On the pole +13 to the good and all he had to do was get a mediocre finish to advance. A blown engine you can chalk uo to bad luck I guess (unless Truex missed a shift or the team did something wrong with the set up). 1st year running Toyotas, did way better than I think anyone thought he would (was better than last year when he made the Final 4 but only had 1 win). Led the most laps and 4 wins tied fir most with Kyle Busch, Keselowski & Harvick. Next year will have 2nd car at Furniture Row, Eric Jones and should be even better next year.

Wow 2 of 4 drivers with most wins, 4, Keselowski and Truex don't even make Final 8..

Hamlin another speeding penalty. I think thats 15 pit road penalties on the year. He was very lucky that Truex and Keselowski blew engines.

I am all-aboard the JL train. Spending an afternoon at a Joey Logano Foundation charity event up in Loudon really showed me how good he, his wife, and his mom are as human beings. They have a good thing going. :thumb:

Couple day old news. With there now being a Chase in Xfinity & Truck for the 1st time this year, the writing was on the wall. NASCAR had to do something to limit the top Sprint drivers from running in Xfinity & Truck, esp the Xfinity Chase. Cup drivers won 19 of 29 Xfinity races so far and 4 of 19 Truck races, greatly effecting which Xfinity & Truck drivers make and advance in their respective Chases..

Basically in a nutshell, drivers with more than 5 years full time Sprint Cup experience:
-Only allowed to run in 10 of 22 regular season non Dash for Cash X-finity races & 7 of 16 regular season Truck races.
-Not allowed to run in the 4 Dash for Cash Xfinity races
-Not allowed to run in the 8 Xfinity & 7 Camping World Truck Chase races

No full time Sprint driver regardless of experience will be allowed to run in the Xfinity & Truck championship races at Homestead.

Q. How many laps under a single caution does it take NASCAR to figure out the correct scoring?

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) At least 22 people are injured after a person drove their car into a crowd at a parking lot of the Martinsville Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Around 5:40 p.m., law enforcement got reports of pedestrians being hit by a car in a parking lot outside the Martinsville Speedway in Henry County. The crash happened after the race in the handicapped parking area outside of Turn 2 of the Speedway. The parking lot was crowded when a 2005 Chevrolet SSR convertible hit a Jeep it was attempting to pass along with many nearby pedestrians.

Nine people were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Seven were brought to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville and two others were brought to Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, North Carolina. Thirteen people were treated on scene for minor injuries.

The driver of the car was taken into custody. They are being interviewed by Virginia State Police. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. Charges are pending.

The scene has been cleared.

After a five hour rain delay, race is cut short by 40 laps by more rain and Carl Edwards is quickly declared the winner over Logano who was closing.

Chase Standings after Texas:
1. Johnson (locked in)
2. Edwards (locked in)
3. Logano +1
4. Ky Busch +1
5. Kenseth -1
6. Hamlin -2
7. Harvick -18
8. Ku Busch -34

So now you'll have Logano and three JGR cars fighting for the final two spots at Phoenix. Harvick with a slim chance and Kurt Busch all but eliminated without wins at Phoenix.

Before the Kenseth wreck at the 1st Green-White-Checkered it was Kyle Busch and Logano going for the last spot. I couldn't decide which one was the lesser of two evils to root to be out. My only hope was that they would somehow both wreck (which would have put Hamlin in). On that GWC restart Bowman restarts 2nd on the inside with Kenseth 1st on the outside.
-Bowman spins his tires & gets a shitty restart.
-Kyle Busch, restarting 3rd behind Bowman, gets into the back of Bowman and then tries to pass him low.
-Bowman goes low to block Busch.
-Kenseth spotter fooks up and tells him he's clear of the 88 when he wasn't (not with the speed the 88 was now carrying, and Kenseth comes right down in front of the 88's right front.
-Bowman couldn't go any lower because of the wall in Turn 1 and Kenseth gets spun out (not Bowman's fault).
-Caution flag comes out before the leaders pass the OT line and Logano is now in 1st for the next restart.
phpBB [video]

So Bowman is prevented from getting his 1st career win (he doesn't even have a ride for next year) AND BOTH Kyle Busch and Logano make the final 4 at Homestead. :ohno:

Well, hopefully Johnson gets #7 or Edwards gets his 1st..

Hell yeah. Every minute of it. :thumb: If you missed Sunday's race, you aren't a fan (rhetorical, as I know you aren't). An absolutely thrilling final 40 laps.

Big crowds at the past several races as well.

I would have flown down to Homestead this weekend to watch Joey win the championship, but my youngest son will be in Orlando with his mom. I wouldn't want to go without him. He'd be pissed.

NASCAR has its first ever international champion in a series: Daniel Suarez in the Xfinity Series.

You'd expect him to move up quickly, but JGR is chock full in Sprint Cup with Ky Busch, Kenseth, Edwards, and Hamlin. It'll be interesting to see where he'll fit in.

Suarez is a pretty likable member of Team Brown. Not a dickhole like JPM was.
