Let's see get a 4-out save last night & win a game you desperately needed to win, or save him for tonight when Hamels is pitching?? If you think you're steamed now, think how you'll feel tonight when the 8th & 9th are no relievers pitching in a save situation.

Maybe the Phils wanted to make sure all the bandwagon jumpers were cleared before they made their last run? I mean, who could possibly be left now after that disaster in Houston?

Phils rally with 2 outs and none on in the 9th to win 3-2. Trailing 2-1 Utley walks and Howard HR's, Papelbon gets the save.

3 games out! But it's still a long shot especially with the way the Brewers are playing. Even though it's been a disappointing year, it has been one hell of an August and September!

It was fun while it lasted! But at least we know now that if the phils were healthy this year, they would have made the playoffs again.

Agree. 2013 should be a fun battle with the Natinals. We sort of knew this season was fooked with Howard and Uts. Throw in serious DL time for the starting rotation and it was a recipe for disaster.
And still we had a glimmer of hope in mid-September. Not too shabby.
