After two seasons in the majors, we demoted him back to the bush leagues.

Five Cy Youngs
303 wins
4875 SO's
10 time all star
One of only 5 pitchers in the HISTORY of MLB to win the Cy Young in both leagues. Holds the record for most consecutive Cy Youngs won (4), 2nd most Cy Youngs in History. 2nd most career strikeouts in the HISTORY of MLB.
Name me ANY category Jeter is in the top 5 in his career. Any. And thats with the protection of the most potent lineup year after year after year after year.
Go ahead....I'll wait.
Face it. You're just bitter because he whooped up on your beloved Yankmees in 2001.
Still waiting patiently, Joe.

Johnson played until he was 45, you will have to wait until Jeter is 45 to compare records.

Johnson had a 5.00 ERA in New York. We carried that bush leaguer. Then we demoted him to the Class DBacks, where he could pretend to matter again.
Fact is the guy bombed in the biggest stage on sports and that's what he will be remembered for. Oh, and for being fugly too.

Translation: Jeter is AVERAGE! I'll accept your offer of surrender.
Nice spin on Johnson, Jose. 34-19, 4.37 ERA with a bad back. Feel free to cherry pick on his stats though.
You both have been cherry picking stats since the thread began. Both are all-time great players.

Shouldn't you two be talking about A.J Burnett and his 6.93 ERA since June? More of a story if you ask me.

Really? What career stats of Johnson's are bad?
Eight seasons pitching the Class DBacks. How can you say that the guy is a Hall of Famer when he pitched in the minor leagues for eight years during what should have been the prime of his career?
