So we've got the Cards and the Braves coming up. Considering the Phils can pretty much dictate who they want to win the wildcard, who should they pick? :D

Of course, we also don't want to screw around and leave the window open for Los Gigantes, as they are trying their damnest to sneak back in.

The wildcard race:

NATIONAL W L PCT GB HOME ROAD RS RA DIFF STRK L10
Atlanta 86 64 .573 - 46-29 40-35 610 550 +60 Won 2 4-6
St. Louis 81 68 .544 4.5 41-34 40-34 693 640 +53 Won 2 7-3
San Francisco 80 70 .533 6 44-34 36-36 514 522 -8 Won 5 7-3

The Braves haven't been the same for a while - I don't think it matters, I think the D-Backs or Brewers, whoever plays them, will win. We'll face & sweep both of those teams, just the order has to be determined. Fee-Fo-Fo

I don't think St. Loo will catch the Braves for the WC. And the Giants are toast.

Atlanta is banged up right now. If they get healthy I'd rather face the Cards, if they don't get healthy I'd rather see them.

Let's hope Hamels is in top form for Game 3 on October 4th.

Magic # for homefield is two.

Expect a mish-mash lineup for the Nats & Mutts series, lots of guys getting rest or playing 50% of the time.

Just get the rotation lined up - 12 days till Game 1 of the NLDS.

Game 1 - October 1st @ CBP
Game 2 - October 2nd @ CBP
Game 3 - October 4th @ TBD

...then onto the NLCS

With the way Hamels has looked in his last four starts, I'm thinking fo, six, six.

With the Brewers losing last night, the Phillies have clinched home field throughout the playoffs. :thumb:

Yep, you'll see a ton of guys getting rest in the Nats & Mutts series. If the Braves have the WC wrapped up it'll be the same thing - if they don't Charlie will play regualr lineup within reason.

I didn't even feel the need to watch last night - October 1st can't come soon enough.

Yeah, I'm not proud to say it, but last night was the first Phils game I watched none of in a while. I paid for MLB.TV after I moved, and I still didn't feel compelled to tune in.

Rest, set rotation, keep players somewhat sharp.

I'd like to see the Phils get to 102 wins for the club record. :twocents: They need to win 4 of their last 9.

Another loss by the scrubs to the Nats today. Good effort by Kendrick wasted. :ohno:

Yet another listless loss by the Phils in the nightcap to some schmohawk named Detwiler. Shutout, no less! A fucking disgrace. :ohno:

Don't sweat it, you don't get upset about losing a preseason game in March, these games are no different.

Saturday October 1st - then it counts.

I wish I could share your sentiments but going into the playoffs on less than cruise control is a bad thing in sports. I've seen it more than one year from the Caps down here. Best record in hockey, coasting into the playoffs and early exit. :?

:+1:

And this is Philadelphia we're talking about! We went out ignominiously in the '77 NLCS after setting the franchise record for wins.

The Caps had never won a Stanley Cup before and had a team full of those veterans with the best pitching staff to boot. The Phils will be fine - this is like Spring Training all over again. Nothing matters now until Oct 1.

What is the Mariners' parade route this year, GATW? The one right down the middle of Puget Sound?
