You are right, German win would have been better for US.

Right now US advances with win tomorrow.

If we draw to tomorrow then we advance with:
-win or tie against Germany
-loss to Germany and Portugal/Ghana ends in tie

Agreed. Rather see them go with something that happened on the field. Fewest red cards, fewest yellow cards, most corner kicks or something like that.

What sort of lot do you have to draw? A vacant space? A large quantity of something? The bible dude with the pillar of salt for a wife?

And do we have any artists on the team?

I know it hardly ever comes to the lot drawing scenario, but you should probably carry one artist on the team just in case.

Points - meaning (3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss)

If you are tied on goal differential and goals for, then you are automatically tied in goals against.
