He just hit his FIFTH home run of the world series....
He MIGHT be good.

I'm pretty sure that the MLB rule is that the DH can only be used for the pitcher.clenz wrote:I don't know if the rule is that you MUST DH for the pitcher, it may be though in the majors.
Utley would deserve the MVP even if the Phills lose the series. Without him the Phills are swept.
That is correct.BlueHen86 wrote:

Me too. I don't think the giant sleeps for a whole series. Watch the Yanks bowl to Utley in game six (they simply can't be dumb enough to pitch to him again, can they?) and Howard will finally touch the short porch in right a time or two. The Utley/Werth protection around him has to finally pay dividends.Ivytalk wrote:Two weeks ago, Howard was hot and Utley was not. You never know. I sense that our Big Man will snap out of it in NY!

I think that is the plan. Cliff Lee said he'd be willing to pitch in game 7, it's his "throw day" anyway, so I think he might be able to pitch 2 or 3 innings.SuperHornet wrote:Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton, newly rejoining the San Diego radio scene, went on record tonight saying that the Yankees are on the ropes due to pitching staff woes. Pettitte, who admitted being "gassed" in a press conference, is going on 3 days' rest against Pedro's 5; Pettitte is HORRIBLE on 3 days. They have one pitcher they refuse to use, and two relievers who are having a case of stage fright. The only decent starter they have right now is CC, and he's scheduled to go on short rest in Game 7. The only decent reliever in the lineup is Rivera.
On the other hand, Philly has the deck stacked, or so says Hamilton, a known blowhard. Throw Hamels out for four and use the ENTIRE staff the rest of the way for Game 7 to overpower CC.
Sound feasible?

Howard needs to start hitting, I don't think the Phils will win otherwise.93henfan wrote:Me too. I don't think the giant sleeps for a whole series.
