Shaq Diesel A Sun!

Wow. I'm not sure WHAT to think of this trade. Part of me feels that the Suns were a flawed product with mediocre chemistry in the locker room, and lacked a big immovable presence in the middle, but another part of me wonders how a 35 year old 310 lb man who can't run is going to help this team. It'll be nice to move Amare to the 4 spot and out of the middle, plus having Shaq clog the middle against the likes of Duncan, Yao, Odom, etc., will help....

I'd say the jury is still out on this one....only time will tell.

It seems to me the Suns have decided to play four on offense and five on defense...or abandon the running game...

Cause Shaq can't get up and down the floor with a running team...

You're right, AZ, he'll clog the middle on defense...then maybe catch up when they transition to offense...

Torn on this as well - hopefully, Shaq-fu can give us enough to get by the West.

If he's genuinely healthy, I like the trade. If he's hobbled up, we fucked ourselves royally.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. I don't think the Suns were going to win this year with the current line-up, might as well roll the dice.

That was the point I made on AGS. I think we were a flawed product this year, with piss poor chemistry. I don't think we were getting out of the second round with our current team, especially with the lakers adding Gasol and the Sterns adding Damon Stoudamire. We needed to do something to get bigger in the middle, and we did about the best we could, plus get rid of Marion, who had become a distraction and was only playing when he felt like it.

I agree....the more I think about it, the more I like it, as long as Shaq can stay healthy. Amare is MUCH better at the 4 than the 5, and Shaq clogging the middle will make things much tougher for our Western Conference opponents. :!:
