Bullets owner Abe Pollins dies at 85

Post by bandl »

Breaking news, no link yet

Sad. He was a very respectable team owner (even though his Bullets haven't exactly played respectable basketball in decades). He was also the former owner of the Washington Capitals.

A great and generous man...he wanted the best for the Wizards, even though they haven't performed recently...

He paid for the new arena (Verizon Center) and is known with his numerous donations to worthy causes...affordable housing in DC was his current cause...

RIP Mr. Pollin

Very sad news, he was always seemed to really care about the Bullets/Wizards, going down to Richmond every year from training camp, taking the time to talk to each of the guys, sad stuff :(

With some of the changes Saunders has been making this year, I wondered if a return to the Bullets was inevitable. Now, I don't know, but at least they won tonight for him.
