Dustin Pedroia has told the Red Sox he wants to be their SS in 2010 a move that would return him to his original position where he was an All-American at Arizona State.

The Red Sox have looked into the idea since they feel they would have an easier time finding a second baseman for 2010 then a solid SS.

The move would likely be temporary as the Red Sox recently invested a large sum in Cuban SS José Iglesias who could be ready for the majors in 2011.

Oh thank god. I was really worried about the Red Sox and their predicament at SS.

My comment had nothing to do with anyone liking the Red Sox... simply pointing out if Jon liked Drew then he should care that Pedroia wants to move to SS as that would take Boston out of the running to trade for Drew. So its more about caring about his D Backs then the Red Sox... as for you, you can go back to caring about the train wreck that is and always will be the Baltimore Orioles.

Why would the dbacks trade Drew? What starting pitcher would Boston give up?

I dont know off the top of my head how many seasons Drew remains under team control, or what his stats look like... I would imagine we'd be talking about perhaps Michael Bowden and another prospect. If Drew remains under team control for say another 4 seasons and has produced solid stats..specifically in terms of defense and OBP Boston could offer Buchholz if they got another player in return as well.... maybe that young catcher they had been eyeing last year.

OK, now I just quickly glanced at both players. I could envision Boston offering Buchholz and another top prospect for Drew and Montero, though I doubt the D Backs would want to part with Montero.

like I said after looking at Monteros stats, I doubt they would want to part with Montero, though to land a top of the rotation starter like Buchholz, they might, but again its unlikely. I can see Boston offering Bowden for Drew.

Its amazing how the exact same post can cause two different reactions based on where its posted.

On CS.com some folks talk about it while poking fun at others fav teams or telling someone that their team sucks.
