Gonzalez Expects Trade To Boston Within 10 Days

A source close to Adrian Gonzalez says the Padres slugger expects to be traded to Boston within the next 10 days.

With its recent signings Boston could dangle an offer including both Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz though one MLB source says Boston won't include both in any trade, but that either would be available as the centerpiece of a package.

Boston has a number of top prospects that would be intriguing for San Diego, though one name everyone asks about when beggining trade talks with Boston, Casey Kelly is not available to anyone, he is the only untouchable player in Boston's farm system.

If San Diego chose to persue Buchholz, they could then center on some of Boston's top position players such as Ryan Westmoreland and Lars Anderson.
