Many of you may know the story of my son's baseball injury of a few years ago, when he fractured his skull after being hit by a pitch.

Several months ago, my wife nominated him for a "Comeback Player of the Week" award that is done by Channel 12 news here in Phoenix, and sponsored by Phoenix Children's Hospital. Well, we hadn't heard anything and figured he didn't make the cut, but yesterday we got an email from PCH saying he was IN THE RUNNING!!!

So here's where YOU come in: If you go to the following link:

http://www.facebook.com/PCHSportsMed?v=wall and become a "fan" of the page, then find the story on their wall entitled: Comeback Contender: Jack Martin and click "Like", then make a positive, supportive comment it will help him WIN!!! If he's selected from amongst a group of contenders he's then featured on channel 12, and TWO winners get $2000 college scholarships as well. He can win by either being voted Comeback Player of the Year or being the "Fan Fave", which is based off of # of "likes" and comments under his story.

Any help ya'll can give would certainly be appreciated...

Travis Liles: A great story of a young man determined to continue his passion of playing baseball. In a day when most kids rather seit at home with video games this young man fought his way back onto the baseball field. Here's to Mr. Martin's future in baseball, may it be long and great.

I've met Jack a couple of times and I would say something along the lines of...

He's quick to flash a smile. Is comfortable in situations where he's hanging out with adults and comports himself in a manner that let's you know that he is confident in himself. He is not a complainer and has a good time doing whatever it is that is going on. He is a very bright and inquisitive young man with a very affable nature.

If you know a young fella like Jack then describe him as you would the young man that you do know. He is deserving of any good things you say about him so do not worry about being called a liar when you say them. He's a great kid and any of you would feel fortunate to have him as a son or a friend.
