but taking a beating like he has tonight, at the age of 40, and still getting right back in there, is impressive. I'd like to see some of you office drones who give him shit do anything close to that.

I don't care if that fucker can walk on water (and I'm SURE ESPN thinks he can), the love affair the announcers have with him is just sickening.

Hardly. I don't think anyone disputes his toughness and determination. He's a living legend. But that doesn't change the fact that he's a bigger attention whore/needy vajj than Paris Hilton.

And of course, all the receivers, runningbacks, and defensive players take that kind of beating in every game, and all the linemen take ten times that beating in every game. But everyone wants to pat the poor QBs on the back for taking a few shots.

One of the best NFL players of all time. I hope he plays next year. Sorry ass fake Adrian Peterson and Harvin should be flogged in public.

How does his beating compare to what other QB's comeback from?

I'm glad the Vikings lost, and glad to see Bert through an INT to end it, but still have to give him credit compared to other QB's, even one's half his age.

I haven't been his biggest fan over the last three years, but you can't deny his talent. He's still throwing bullets at his age and has the arm to air it out as well as someone 20 yrs. his junior. I kind of found myself pulling for the Vikes a bit this season just because Brent was having such a great year at his age.

Yeah, I was a hater at the beginning of the season (my wife's from Wisconsin) - but dadgum that was one hell of a season and one hell of a game, even if he did get a Tom Brady call or 2.

Shame we can't have Manning v Favre in 2 weeks - hopefully New Orleans can get it done in Miami, but if I was a betting man I'd be wagering on the Colts - Manning's absolutely possessed...

Like most years, I'm pretty indifferent with this years' Super Bowl. I've always liked Manning, and I like what Brees has brought to NO. Part of me would like to see the Saints win it since they never have, but I won't lose any sleep regardless of the outcome.

Favre is a great QB an all, but the adulation given to him has always been greater than he actually is. He's never been the best QB in the game (football in general) ever in his career. He was in Aikman's shadow back in the day when the Packers could never beat the Cowboys, Elway was the man later in the 90's, Brady and Warner early in this decade, and now Manning is looking like perhaps, the best QB ever.

Thought it was laughable when Bradshaw said in the pregame that he thought Favre was the best he's ever seen. For a guy who won 4 SB's not to recognize the inability of Favre to win big games is amazing to me.

A "few shots"? Did you watch the game?

The guy was a warrior last night, and there are not many players that could do as well as he did under the circumstances. He was getting absolutley nailed 1 out of every 3 times he dropped back.

I hope he comes back. Without him, the Vikings were/will be nothing again.

Maybe I'm not remembering the 2008 season correctly, but didn't the Vikings, without Favre, win their division, make the playoffs, and were just one playoff win worse than the Vikings with Brett Favre? It's not like Favre took over a struggling team and made them into winners. Heck, his entire mantra since leaving the Pack was that he would only play for a legitimate Super Bowl contending team. It's not like the Vikings were the Lions before Favre got there this year.

"one less playoff win"... Please.

They lost in the wildcard round last year, which is two games from where they lost this year. And did you see that game last year? When they got behind, and had the thow the ball, it was freaking laughable watching them try to throw with Tavaris Jackson. They absolutely had zero chance, and it was pathetic.

Favre undeniably made this team infinitely better. He was a top 3 QB ALL season long, and was awesome last night just giving them a chance, after getting hit in the mouth 20 times.

Favre needs to retire...it's no coincidence that both his teams have slipped in the latter half of the season in the last 2 years, I have no stats for proof but really you can tell that he doesn't have enough gas in the tank to put together a good 16 game + season

...and that pick looked like a rookie mistake
