For those of you in western Montana, or those 49er/Giant fans who don't mind traveling, there will be a benefit Sunday Feb 21st at the Bitterroot Brewery in Hamilton. The benefit is for a local valley resident who is fighting leukemia.
At the benefit, there will be a silent auction and one of the items up for auction is a field pass to one of the S.F. 49er home games, or S.F. Giant home games this year. Minimum bid on this will be $500 but who knows, for $510 you might get to be on the field for the game! (I wonder if the Packers play them this year?)
Lots of other items up for bids as well. All proceeds go to the family for which the benefit is being held.
Here is some more info: (2/15/10)
From Prize:
"Tag along with Sports Illustrated Photographer John Burgess for the chance of a lifetime. We'll supply you with a really big lens and a camera shooting 8 frames per second.
Picture taken with 9er girls.
A squished hot dog with unlimited condiments at half time.
You'll be close enough to smell the sweat, hear the crashes and the trash talk that follows."

That's nice. I think it's a great prize. My father-in-law got a field pass to the Panthers/ Bills game this year and loved it. Great thing SH, you don't have bid on it.

We realize that you'd rather pay $500 for a field pass to a Sacramento Stars over-40 women's field hockey game, but your opinion here is unadulterated BS. If I was planning on being anywhere NEAR San Fran this summer I'd buy the Giants field pass in a HEARTBEAT. That stadium is hands down the neatest baseball stadium in America. I would LOVE to experience it from the field.

No doubt, their stadium looks awesome, I hope to make a game there some time in my life.

IF you do, get the seat in the upper deck, right field line, TOP ROW, as far from home plate as you can. You will NOT be disappointed.

The best baseball stadium I've ever been in is the one housing the Lake Elsinore Storm. They also have the coolest caps in baseball.

Well my wife is working in the Oakland area, and when I get there the Giants, A's, Warriors, Sharks, 49er's, Kings and Raiders games are on my to-do list.
I'm open to other teams in the area too.
