I flipped on the pro am and had to flip it back off. It makes me want to book a flight to Cali too bad. That course and the coast are just so drop-dead gorgeous and makes the perma-snow we have here right now that much harder to stomach. :ohno:

That course and the coast ARE drop dead gorgeous. Possibly the most beautiful golf course on earth. :coffee: :coffee:

Not even close to the central California coast. Take a drive down PCH once and then get back to us.

Yeah, ocean view is nice. But as far as golf courses, none have the beauty of Augusta.

To each their own. Both courses have been rated #1 by various publications. I don't golf, so I can't really get into the finer points of the courses, but as far as beauty goes, give me the Central Coast over Georgia any day of the week. You can have the humidity, skeeters, and Piggly Wiggly.

As an avid golfer I would take Pebble over Augusta. Augusta is nice, but I am not a fan of the stuffy private course atmosphere/arrogance.

Have you ever played either? Because I have played Pebble and have a couple friends who've played both. The BOTH say Pebble, for sheer beauty. Don't get me wrong, Augusta is beautiful, but the ONLY thing it's got going for it over Pebble is the exclusivity. If someone said "pick ONE, right now, that you want to play" I'd pick August for that reason, and that reason only. Otherwise, the sweeping views, the scenery, the all-around beauty of the course and the surrounding area make it Pebble in a landslide.

Having lived on the Monterey peninsula and on the East coast during winter about the only difference is no snow vs having snow. I like the cold and even now as I age like a fine wine  I keep the heat off in our bedroom. That being said I have never felt so cold as when I lived in this area. During the winter the fog burns off around 10:30-11:00 and comes back around 2:00 pretty much every day. The air temp are fine, around 45-65. Humidity though is what makes this place bone chilling cold. It runs around %85. this is the only place I have lived where I have had a fire going while outside it is 67.

Now for the golf, I have never played at Augusta but have been there for the PGA. I have golfed Pebble Beach, Spyglass and The links. There is not another course in this country that compares for its beauty or golfing, period.

I drove the PCH and did the 17 mile drive around Pebble Beach last year, stopping at many of the look out points...

Breath taking beautiful.

No votes for Cobb's Creek as the best course? I mean, where else can you get in a cheap round of golf and watch the police chase a criminals across the fairway? To each his own I guess.

Along those lines -

My favorite course is East Bay Golf Club up the road...

Around 30 bucks to ride, usually not in horrible condition, hot beer cart girls with $10 a six pack domestic beer specials.

What else can a hacker ask for?

:D ;)

Golf hasn't been the same since Fudd-Putters mini-golf in Fargo closed. :(

A summer Saturday in Fargo when I was growing up often included a round there followed by a burger at Fuddruckers. Those were the days.

Speaking of putt-putt, did any of my fellow Blue Hens ever play the course next to the driving range up there behind McKean HS? That was a pretty regular trip during my freshman year. We had a group of guys always down for some putt-putt.
