Julius Peppers Released

The Panthers decide not to pay him $20 million next year. Good move by Carolina. Peppers is a great talent, and will help some team immediately. But he never emerged as a leader in the locker room and seemed to get by on talent some of the time.
Any ideas where he will end up?

Lots of big names with big salaries getting dumped it seems like. The uncapped year is scaring the hell out of some teams I think

Eagles could take a shot at him - they need someone to man the line opposite Trent Cole. Might even be able to get him on a one year deal.

They'll have the cap room once McNabb is dumped on the Vikings or Cardinals

The Patriots expressed interest in the past...don't know if they are still interested...

There is no cap next year as of right now, plus they just cleared some room with Westbrook.

Well, the Eagles will still need to pay the guy they take in the draft using the Vikes or Cards first round pick(s) so you have to keep that in mind.

Or they could trade his rights away for someone else..
It's a win-win-win-win-finally lose for the Eagles

What about the year the cap gets put back on? Room saved over the long haul

Think they still are and think they will end up picking him up. They had no pass rushers last year. Banta-Cane or however it is spelt, was their best guy and he wasn't that great.

It's interesting, I can't see getting nothing for him. Thank God we still have Delhomme.

My guess is, they have been trying to find some team that would be willing to do some dealing if the Panthers tagged him, and were unsuccessful. He got his wish...Mac (on the Mac Attack in Charlotte) said the two teams being mentioned most are Philly and New England. I'd be surprised by NE now after having tagged Wilfork. The thing that sucks is the Panthers let a pro-bowl DE walk, and we still have 0 first round picks.

If this is true, the union (if it's certified; they decertified for at least a little bit under Shell) may well have a case for collusion should they choose to take court action.

we will have a new defensive beast. No doubt about it, New England is where he will land.

1. Jerry World; 2. Green Bay; 3. Philly

Listening to the Radio on the way home from work yesterday, they mentioned that "sources" had said Peppers was most interested in Philly. Anyway, he will most likely end up in Philly or NE.

Yeah, it totally sucked when the Eagles traded away a first round pick and still ended up with DeSean Jackson. What a bummer that was.

I hope somebody gets to enjoy him jogging to the pile after someone else has made the tackle. Could have been one of the all-time greats, but instead has chosen to take half of the plays off.
