Seems that some are whining over the "overexuberance" of the Canadian Women's Hockey Team after winning the gold medal in Vancouver. The celebration apparently left the locker room and went back onto the ice AFTER FANS HAD LEFT. There were beer, champagne, and cigars, and posing on the Olympic Rings (still fully clothed).

While I frown on the cigars and the ALLEGED underage drinking (supposedly one player was photographed with a beer in her hand), since when is it wrong for a team to cut loose after a title? Are we crying because it's a team of GIRLS and this is unseemly for GIRLS to be doing?

I'm not a fan of smoking and certainly not a fan of drinking. But a championship celebration deserves some leeway. Heck, even teetotaller Willie Mays admitted to a few swigs of champagne in locker room celebrations. Sure, the underage drinking should be addressed (if it indeed occurred; the girl could have been merely passing said beer to a fellow teammate) IN THE PROPER VENUE. That does NOT mean bashing them in the media.

As much as I was disappointed that Team USA lost, Canada won. Let them have their fun.

Should we just take a cue from the title of this thread and simply not talk about it?

It would have been OK if they had served the men their beer and cigars first. That was really the only problem I had with it.

Driving 60 mph in a 55 mph zone is bad, as it is breaking the law.

Might as well rant about underage smoking too. I think 19 is the tobbacco age in BC as well.

Could be wrong here Grizza but it appears to me that Jay was comparing the minor indiscretion of an underage drinker having a beer with breaking the speed limit. Both may be crimes but not exactly the pinnacle of criminal activity.

And yet he feels the need to chip in on every drinking reference in the history of the world.

Thou shall not drink and smoke or break the speed limit or J-WALK or run on a walking path or jump off a bridge or throw away a can when it could be recycled....

Thou shall not drink unless you are confined in a hospital's rubber room so you will not hurt yourself/others/yourself/your table/the bathroom toilet...etc

Thou shall not drive if you have consumed alcohlol within the past week.
