I get I'm the only one watching this probably

Or at least trying to watch it...Does anyone else have a problem getting ESPN2 to come in?
I get every other of our 200 channels or so to come in just fine, except the Twins game. I'll be pissed if I'm blacked out...especially since the only Twins games I ever get at on ESPN because I'm not in the Twins market.

according to this map Iowa is part of the twins market (along with a few other teams) that likely means the game is blacked out for you on ESPN and only available through the Twins broadcasting partners.

i totally hate the media markets. And MLB sucks with the retarded baseball package.
Here in Brooklyn, there is a package with the cable provider where you can get tons of sports channels including NESN (The Network owned by the Red Sox... only if I were to get it the Red Sox games would be blacked out here)

I've never been blacked out of a Twins game on ESPN or ESPN2, granted there are like 5 of those a year. However, I get blasted with Cubs, White Sox, Black Hawks, Bears, Bulls, etc.. non stop. None of those are ever blacked out either. Hell, there are times where the Cubs or White Sox games will be on Comcast Sports Net and ESPN with the other team being on ESPN 2.
I don't get Twins games for shit, and if they are going to be blacked out anytime I get them I'm going to go ape shit on MLB and ESPN in some e-mails...not that they'd get read anyway./

clenz I don't know if it's the same for you, but the Twins game is on FSN for me, not ESPN2.

I don't get FSN. Being as close to Chicago as we are there are almost nothing but Cubs fans around here. Due to that all the cable providers around here go with CSN (Comcast) out of Chicago.
No FSN for me, my parents get the game though on ESPN2 AND FSN in my hometown of George, Iowa.
You tell me based on the map how George isn't Twins market but CF is

Thats not true at all. Twins games are always blacked out when on ESPN here in Cedar Falls. Which is retarded because we don't get twins games, but the MLB tells us we are in their "territory". But that is the reason we didn't get the game tonight. It was blacked out. The MLB blackout stuff is primitive and ridiculous, i know.
Cubs and Whitesox games get blacked out all the time too, but we get comcast and wgn so we are still able to watch those games.

What I don't get is why an organization would black out a game in "their territory", when the game is being played 2000 miles away in SoCal.

I get why they have blackouts. I get it completely. They don't want to take away viewers from their regional broadcasts on channels like FSN and the like. Thats totally understandable. But when they blackout national broadcasts on ESPN in areas like Iowa that do not get regional Twins games, and never have, it is just plain stupid.
Its 2010, people. Figure it out MLB.

its not upto the teams its upto MLB. Basically they want you watching on the teams network but that is ridiculous in some cases when u cant even get it like Clenz.

DJH in my 4 years in Cedar Falls this is the first time a twins game on ESPN has been blackedout that I remember. I've also never had White Sox or Cubs games on ESPN blackedout either. Like I said there have been days where the Cubs/Sox have been on ESPN and CSN.
The only time I get to see the twins is if they play Boston or new York on ESPN or the White Sox on CSN

National games on ESPN arent blacked out... such as Sunday Night Baseball. Maybe those account for some of the games you have seen. There were times back in New Hampshire I saw Red Sox games on ESPN that werent national broadcasts but they were very few times that happened.

Dude, I'm telling you, those games always get blacked out. Like UNH said, if it is sunday night baseball it wont, but all other games do.
The whitesox were on ESPN2 today, and we did not get the game on ESPN2, as it was blacked out. But we did get the game on Comcast. Almost every Cubs/Whitesox/Twins game on ESPN during weekdays are blacked out for Cedar Falls.
btw, what is really ridiculous about this MLB blackout policy is that they even apply it to MLV.tv. Even if you pay the MLB a subscription to MLB TV online, they won't let you watch games in your area. How retarded is that? They won't even let you pay them to watch the team you want to watch.

That's what happens when only a couple of teams like the Sox and Yankees actually pack their stadiums. Baseball is a dying sport.
