Nice work Jay, thanks.

The Flyers and Rangers played a must win game yesterday, the winner is in the playoffs; the loser is out. The Flyers won in a shootout, it doesn't get much closer than that.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooch!

The Flyers may actually have a chance against Jersey. They took the season series from the Devils 5-1. Still, if they were to get past the Devils, they'd get shellacked by the Craps in round 2.

Yup, I hate both teams, but I hate the Rangers more. Glad to see them so closely miss the playoffs. :thumb:

I'll probably be happy if my Avs get a game off of the Sharks, considering we were dead last in the western conference last season.

I have to admit to being only a part-time hockey fan. Don't really pay that much attention during the regular season, but usually end up tuning in during the playoffs.

I'm with you. I subscribe to the theory that hockey games don't matter until April, especially when over half the league makes the playoffs. Hell, less than twenty years ago, 16 of 21 teams (76%) made the playoffs.

To truly show how ridiculous that was, consider that the 1987-88 Toronto Maple Leafs were a playoff team, with a record of 21 wins, 49 losses, and 10 ties.

They certainly are the best team on paper, but...history suggests otherwise.

That's good. :thumb: I should enjoy having my team despised because of their success. A beer says the Wings beat the Coyotes.

There was an article about this in the Inquirer (and likely a Jersey or NY paper). Reading the comments, the Philly folks are fine with it, because we get all local announcers for the first round. The out of market Flyers fans are absolutely pissed, of course, because they don't get to watch any games.

It looks like the Flyers were a victim of Jersey having some of the worst TV ratings in the NHL historically.

Oh well, I'll be watching the series on Comcast Sportsnet Philly. ;)

The NHL is still around???? I didn't know. I thought it folded a couple years ago. Haven't seen a game flipping channels in a long long time. Weird.

The Flyers/Devils is the only one of the eight series with zero games on NBC or Versus.

You must not get NBC or Versus (formerly Outdoor Life) there in Montana.

I get NBC for sure, not sure for Versus. I get a couple hunting/fishing channels and a bunch of fox side channels and haven't seen a game pop up for, like I said, a long time.

Good for you that still watch the NHL. I never really got into watching hockey but started trying to watch it then *poof*, it went away from TV.

Playoff hockey is worth watching, particularly the semis and finals. It's almost as good as olympic hockey.

But doesn't the USA always win?

If you consider 1960 and 1980 always winning, then yes.
