Great article on the financial positions of MLB teams. Kind of puts to rest the tired argument from Yankee fans that they don't have a significant financial advantage and also that other teams aren't spending enough on baseball.

So proportionally they pay the same...huh, I would have never guess. However, they really do have a HUGE advantage in terms of money.

Yup, but it does render moot the idea from Yankees fans that they shouldn't have to pay the luxury tax because small teams are just pocketing the money without improving their teams. Basically what it says is, outside of the Marlins, everybody spends the same proportion of money on baseball activities - it's just that the Yanks, primarily due to location, can afford much, much more.
