RIP Ernie. Being an out of marketer, I didn't get the pleasure of listening to him, but if he was as good to Detroit as Harry Kalas was to Philly, he'll be sadly missed.

One of the all-time greats. An old Southern gentleman, like the late Red Barber. Who's left from that generation of broadcasters? Vin Scully and Marty Brenneman are the only two I can think of.
