I guess two 3-0 Boston chokes in one season was too much to hope for...

Better question is why was Travis so quiet during the time frame of Boston's two losses, and now that they won he is posting again

my avatar is what I believe is ahead. The thread title is just going by what is reality at the moment... I will alter the title once LA wins their series.

All one can hope for at this point is that the above-court scoreboard catastrophically fails at tipoff.

There's a chance someone escapes unscathed in that scenario. I'd much prefer something like this eliminating the possibility of survivors.

I'm sure David $tern could arrange that, if the price is right.

Although the Celtics are stacked with stars, I'm still pulling for the Lakers to pull it out. Of the top 5 stars in the series, I'd rank them Kobe, Rondo, Pierce, Garnett, Allen.

I'll be cheering like crazy for the Celts but I think LA will take it. They put up a ton of points vs. Phoenix. It should be a good series and could go the full 7 games.

Rooting for a 7 game series. If it happens, I think you see a masterpiece performance by Kobe.

I think it will be Boston by 4 tonight. Let's see your score predictions!
Mine is:
Boston 89
L.A. 85
Factor: Will the refs let them play or will they blow the whistle like they did in the last series? If Garnett gets into a little trouble, that will be enough for L.A. to win. IMO.
GO CELTS!

Not sure the LA defense is good enough to hold them under 90.

The one stat that stands out for me was the 54 fouls that were called. Boston's offense never got started. I quit watching the game as the second quarter began. It's sad when the announcers point it out.

Last night was role reversal from the Finals series from 2 years ago. The Lakers were the dominant team inside, I think Artest set that tone in the 1st minute. If the Lakers can outrebound the Celtics by double digits every game it would be a short series. I think it'll be a long series though, Game 2 will be interesting, and why do they need 2 freakin days off & have to play the same night as hockey?? Why?

Crotchety old man Garnett played soft last night. Before last night I predicted the Celtics in 5. It all depends on KG's attitude.
Fuel to the fire.....
I've met both at public events, Kundla was nothing but a gentleman, Garnett acted like millionaire crybaby. A person I know that worked closely with Garnett in the Timberwolves organization had the same opinion over and over. Garnett was the reason Flip was fired, and he had several instances of punching team-mates in practice, aka Wally Szczerbiak, Rick Richert which is why the Dwight Howard insicent wasn't surprising.
Former Lakers coach Kundla still no fan of Garnett
Basketball Hall of Fame member Johnny Kundla, who coached the Minneapolis Lakers to five National Basketball Association championships, watched his former franchise play the Boston Celtics in the first game of the NBA Finals on Thursday night from his Minneapolis home. Kundla, who turns 94 next month, naturally is pulling for the Lakers.
"Boston's pretty good, but I can't stand Garnett," Kundla said of the Celtics' Kevin Garnett, a former Timberwolves star. "Garnett's the guy who got Flip Saunders fired (as Timberwolves coach). He said that firing was a breath of fresh air. That really made me mad. Garnett was the reason they fired him, and I just don't like him at all."
Kundla, who coached the Lakers to 423 victories, is a big fan of Lakers coach Phil Jackson and shooting guard Kobe Bryant.
