Can I give you a case of beer to help you through the night?

Moyer. 1 plus, nine hits, eight runs.

This Phils season is reminding me of a show that recently aired its final episode on ABC.

Maybe the Phils can go for their seventh shutout in seventeen games?

First time since 1986 Moyer has failed to get atleast 4 outs... only second time in his career.

Charlie needs to invoke the slaughter rule here at 12-0 in the 3rd.

Good game (from my POV) so far...

But the way the Sox are playing this season, tomorrow, it would not surprise me if the Phillies pulled something similar on the Sox...

Nah. The Phillies just aren't a very good baseball team right now...

I'm still confident they will right the ship, but right now they just suck. Baseball is a funny game.

Every player needs to retire someday. :D

Moyer has pitched well this year. 2 complete games and a shut out aren't too shabby.

In order for Moyer to pitch well he needs a generous strike zone (he like to paint the corners) and he needs the hitters to help him out by being overly aggressive.

The Red Sox are the type of team that he doesn't do well against. They are patient and take a lot of pitches.

I expected a bad result tonight, but I still think Moyer has some innings and starts left in him.

This season reminds me of 1979.

The Phillies won the division in '76, '77 and '78. In 1979 that sigh Pete Rose as a free agent and start the season of well, I think they were 14-6 at one point. But they fell part after that and faded, the Pirates won the division (and World Series) that year.

The good news is that the Phils won it all in 1980. :thumb:
