Well, it all gets decided tonight. Great to see the series go 7. Celtics facing an uphill battle IMO without Perkins, that puts Wallace & Davis playing more minutes than they're used to. My prediction: I honestly cannot see Kobe losing a Game 7 on his homecourt.

I don't watch the NBA at all anymore. The last straw for me was when the Bullets changed their name to that W word (oh, and they sucked ass for such a long time). But the drama of a game 7 in the finals is usually pretty intense. So I think I might tune in for this one.
I couldn't care less who wins though. Actually, I hate Boston fans now, so maybe I'll root for the Clippers??

World Cup and US Open are 1,000,000 times more important and entertaining.

It's a great week for sports. In a month there won't be much of anything...

Agreed - can't see Kobe losing this one - too much career defining stuff in this game for him not to win it.

I'll probably catch part of the US Open on Sunday, and the finals of Wimbledon if I don't get sidetracked doing something else.
Pro basketball - meh.......I'll catch the highlights on sportscenter.

How many is that for Phil Jackson?
Does that guy ever have anything go wrong in his life?

11. 6 with MJ and 5 with Kobe.
I'd like to see him get 6 with MJ and 6 with Kobe.
Side note, Stern just thanked the two teams for the great series (re: thank you for putting all sorts of money in my fucking pocket)

Lakers fans booed mention of the Celtics, after having won it all.
Keep it classy, LA.
I really despise fanbases like the Lakers, Celtics, Yanks, etc that never face any real adversity. My only solace is the fact that their individual titles mean far less to them than they do to teams that make their fanbases wait and wait and wait and then finally get it done.
EDIT: Now they boo Bill Russell. FUCK LA, TOO. Pieces of shit.

I can't stand Laker fan. However, the only thing worse than Laker fan is Boston (in general) fan....and players like Paul Pierce who cries about everything, goes down with the worst injury in the world once a game, then comes back in 3 minutes later

Is there an uglier trophy in sports than the one they give out for winning the NBA? I'd even give the World Cup a nod over that POS.

What a horrible game seven. I started off rooting for the Celtics, but by the end, I was just hoping both could somehow lose.

If you're an offensive purist it was an ugly game, but not too much you could ask for, the series goes 7 & Game 7 is a competitive game right to the end. Great series by both teams, the Lakers just rose to the occassion at the end & the Celtics couldn't match it.
Congrats to Kobe, Phil & the Lakers.
Greatest line of the post-game celebration last night is when Ron Artest thanked his psychiatrist.

Lifelong Lakers fan and Celtic hater in the fun sense of the word. Great defensive battle last night, couldn't believe how tough both teams played. Nice run by the Celtics and Congrats. The three point exchange towards the end was fan-tastic. Pretty good legacy for a coach born in Montana and raised in a small North Dakota town. Perkins injury may have been the key to the series, because Garnett was really sucking air at the end. I wasn't a big fan of KG's when he was in Minnesota, so I loved when Jordon Farmar, all 6'2" posterized, 7'2" Garnett, in game 6.

My biggest beef with the finals was David Stern announcing the Bill Rusell Trophy NBA Finals MVP. Why didn't he STFU and let Bill Russell do the presentation.
