Cuban catcher Adalberto Ibarra who agreed to a deal back in April will be in Boston today to take his physical and finalize his contract with the Red Sox.
Ibarra is a converted corner infielder with a major league ready bat, he does need some work on his defense though.
The fact he is in Boston today for his physical is sure to lead to some speculation that Boston may call upon him to serve as backup if Victor Martinez needs to go on the DL.
