You despise the Lakers even though they're coached by a guy from your hometown, yet you root for the Yankees?Willie wrote:This isn't directed at you Travis, but the NBA as a whole...

I stopped caring about the NBA when Michael retired from the Bulls (for good), when John Stockton and Karl Malone retired, and when Phil Jackson won his first title in L.A. Jackson was born here in Deer Lodge and I despise the Lakers so when he went over to the dark side, I said fug it.
Well certainly the old "If you cant beat em join em" line would be in effect here, but theres the whole salary cap issue... unless he wants to sign for the midlevel exception lolgrizzaholic wrote:I say Boston. Yup, Boston. The Celtics are where it is at! Oh the threads that will happen once this deal gets done.
Whatever. I could give a fuck about the NBA.Seahawks wrote:93henfan wrote:Knickerbockers
No way, and the Knicks know that.

My dad's parents moved to Garrison, MT from THE BRONX. My grandpa grew up a stone throw away from Yankee Stadium. My sister lives in NYC. I make the pilgrimage at least once a year. My first article of clothing was a Yankees shirt. Do I need to go on? One more thing...I went to high school with a relative of George Steinbrenner.
Bullshit! You gotta go as local as possible. He ought to be rooting for the Mariners or Rockies.UNHWildCats wrote:but its cool you stick to your families roots for rooting.

I have relatives in the Bronx and in New Jersey and I'll be damned if you'll ever see me wearing anything representing that bandwagon fanbase.
Ok, you don't like the NBA.Willie wrote:This isn't directed at you Travis, but the NBA as a whole...

I root for LA Lakers, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Black Hawks and Detroit Tigers all somewhat local to North Dakota, because Minnesota has never had a pro sports team.93henfan wrote:Bullshit!
