UPDATE
I will leave the complete original post intact but will add my appologies to Girardi. The MLB story for some reason ommited Beltre but he was indeed selected to the team. Sorry Mr. Girardi.

Joe Girardi should get his ass kicked for choosing his own Alex Rodriguez over Adrian Beltre, no sane person can justify such a move. Both players have similar stats when it comes to doubles, homers, runs and stuff, but Beltre has a batting average 63 points higher then Rodriguez. Additionally, MLB should get their asses kicked for leaving Beltre off the final vote ballot.

If A-Rod had any ounce of decency he would turn down his undeserved selection and allow Beltre to be on the team.

That's what happens when you win the World Series. The manager has his choice. You think he would seriously pick a Red Sox player over his own? Not a chance. It may not be "correct" but who gives a shit. He's the manager, it's his pick. The NL won't win the game anyway.

I also like how TBS, for the last hour, has listed Vlad Guerrero as a Los Angeles Angel. Dumbasses.

Players should be embarrased they selected Jose Bautista of Toronto. Sure the power is nice, but a .229 average? Nick Swisher should be in over him and not stuck on the final man ballot.

And dont even get me started on the NL and Joey Votto.

How in the hell is Jason Heywerd starting? Dude is hitting in the .240's with average power. Not even one of the top 5 rookie hitters. Terrible. MLB needs to do away with the fan voting.

Criminal that Votto, Adam Dunn, and Josh Willingham aren't on the squad.

gotta remember that for a large majority of the voting time he was hitting over .280 its only been a recent slump over the past couple weeks that brought him down to .251

I think Girardi is smart by not using him in the AS game though. Gives him some quality time off.

It's a travesty that Miguel Olivo isn't on the NL squad. The guy's hitting .308 with 11 HRs, 5 3Bs and 39 RBIs. He's also thrown out 20 of 39 base stealers.

Pettitte is going to be on the All-Star team. It is a pretty open secret in NY that Sabathia is going to be removed from the AL's active All-Star roster and Pettitte is going to take his place. Sabathia is pitching the Sunday before the All-Star game and is not going to be available to pitch on one-day's rest.

Buchholz wont be in the game either, hopefully they give his spot to Jered Weaver

Buchholz just went on the DL. Pettitte, as the next player in the players' voting, automatically got the spot.

Prior to the thumb injury in late May that landed him on the DL with his thumb in a cast he was at .292 with 10 HR and 38 RBI in 161 AB's. His OBP was .422, his SP was .578, and his OPS was 1.000.

Not to worry though, he'll be an all star a minimum of 15 times going forward as he is only 20 YO.

Seriously...

Who cares?

Every year there are snubs and questionable picks. But the rosters are so inflated arguing about the last guy on the roster or the first guy let off is the same as arguing who should be the 25th team in a top 25 poll.

Until Heyward has a 1.500 OPS in a playoff series, I'll take CarGo.
