Amare doesn't have to hope for anything. He gets paid no matter what (you gotta love guaranteed contracts, Amare can just mail it in form now on). Knick fans are the ones who better hope LeBron signs there.

There are also rumors that the Knicks might be able to get Tony Parker this year and Carmelo next year. That might make them decent, but not championship caliber.

2 things:

1) Without Nash, Amar'e will be lucky to average 20 ppg. And now that he's paid, the Knicks will be lucky if he averages 5 rebounds /game.
2) The Suns were only going to win 40 games once Amar'e opted out. Hakeem Warrick ain't Amar'e.

Didn't you leave one CU about a year ago to take a better position at a lesser/struggling institution in a different location? This is how the man makes his living, correct?

If the company he is with now values him as an employee then shouldn't they be offering him what the other company is offering him? I mean he has shown his skill in his duties to them in person for years now right?

Makes the odds of LeBron going to NY a little better.

Not even close, Myron. Big fat swing and a miss. :coffee: :coffee:

How was your move different then? I'll consider it fouled off until you smoke this one by me.

My name isn't Myron.

I don't know if that is LeBron's choice of who he would want there so it may lessen the chances and since NY doesn't think he's going there they are pulling the trigger early. Why would they make this move before knowing LeBron and what he's gonna require for a payday?

I think it makes LeBron staying in Cleveland a more likely bet.

Amar'e KNOWS the Knicks suck. I didn't know my CU was in trouble until AFTER I got there. And I got a promotion, Amar'e didn't...he just got more money to play for a shitty team with a shitty system under a shitty coach.

You may have fouled it off, but the catcher caught it for strike three, Myron.

Phoenix won't miss a beat. They were deadly when Amare was out with an injury the entire year a couple of years ago. Anyone they get will be a monster improvement defensively over Amare. And Nash will turn any role player to gold.

What the fuck are you talking about? In the NBA the money IS THE promotion you fucking goofball. So what if he knows they suck? Maybe you didn't think you could have made the team better you were going to but it is also likely that Amare does think that he can.

How many fucking times have you said that the point of being in business and being productive in society is in part related to the bottom line? He is a man that is looking to better his lot in life and now all the sudden you are against it because you KNOW that NY is gonna be a bad job for him?

It's not like he has gotten ahold of any of those Championship rings in AZ has he?

I mean you really think you know what's better for him than he does? You gotta be shitting me Pyle!

Sorry AZ, the catcher not only didn't get a glove on that one but he's standing there admiring my ass after I ripped the tits off of that ball.

Amar'e went from 2 games from the finals to the basement of the really BAD Eastern Conference. He wasn't the best player on the Suns, and without Nash he probably won't be the best player on the Knicks. He chased the money, pure and simple. I am not a fan of athletes who value an extra million or two over a chance at a championship. He would have made just as much from Chicago or Miami and instantly been a title contender...but the reality of it is this: HE DID NOT WANT TO HAVE TO PLAY DEFENSE OR GET REBOUNDS, AND ANY OF THOSE OTHER TEAMS WOULD HAVE REQUIRED IT.

He's shown his true colors. He's a whore....he's Dantoni's whore....

One of the most overrated players in all of basketball. Nash made him, and he will be half the player he was without him.

I do love how you can split hairs on things AZ. If you are an individual and one company offers you a lot more money than a competing company and you take it then it was a great move for you. If you are a sports guy and you do the same thing that anybody else in the rest of the world would do then the fans can come up with a myriad of reasons that your character is lacking. It's absolutely brilliant how you can choose when you want to follow one set of principles and when you do not.

He sounds like a real piece of shit. He took a raise. Boo to you Amare. :(

Pay attention to the ALL CAPS part. There was only one team Amar'e was going to sign with, and it was for that reason and that reason alone. He'd have gotten the same money from any of the other teams courting him, but he'd have had to actually PLAY basketball.

Good riddance, Amar'e. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.
