Thank You George Steinbrenner

Yesterday I made some quick jokes over the death of New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, its easy to joke of someone from an opposing area whether it be politics, sports or anything else, and with Steinbrenner it was the same.
But Red Sox fans, Yankee fans, fans of any team and really anyone should take a moment to thank Mr Steinbrenner for what he did beyond the baseball field.
Perhaps Red Sox skipper Terry Francona put it best today, "Whenever there seemed to be a problem or a disaster, he seemed to be first and writing the biggest check.”
One cause that Steinbrenner never failed to donate to even with its close ties to the Boston Red Sox was the Jimmy Fund. Each year Steinbrenner called in and made a donation during the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon.
Today we owe a lot of gratitude to Mr Steinbrenner, and I take this moment to thank him.
