Giant PxP to HOF

Post by SuperHornet »

I've never been a Giants fan, but I gotta give props to Giant PxP guy Jon Miller, who was just inducted into the Giants Ring of Honor following his award of the Ford C. Frick Award and impending induction into Cooperstown.

Miller has always been an outstanding storyteller. Not many can do a credible job on both radio and TV, but he's great at both. I'd love to see him paired with Padres PxP guy Jerry Coleman. Now, THAT would be a great tag team!

What a great honor for a local kid. Congrats, Jon!

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Great honor for him.

Also, not to completely hijack the thread but...since the Twins are playing the White Sox I actually get to watch the games from home as we get Comcast Chicago and WGN. Hawk Harrelson and Steve Stone are the most annoying, and probably worst, announcers in the majors.

I can't wait for Hawk to move on to other ventures in his life so I can watch the games without hearing his constant bitching and moaning about how the Sox are getting screwed, as well as no longer having to deal with "HE GONE!" after every strike out.

Please do. For the love of God, please do.

I thought this thread was about a giant chess game...

I wish we could give out rep, specifically for this post. The "HE GONE" after strikes outs is annoying to the point where I have watched Twins/Sox games on mute, just to not hear it.

Of all the countless reasons to hate Peter Angelos, refusing to resign Jon Miller could be the biggest one, IMHO. :ohno:
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Miller is one of the best. Right up there with Scully ... I love when I hear Miller say "The Great Mariano Rivera" when he calls the Sunday night game on ESPN. When I hear that, I know the Yankees are just a few pitches away from a win.
