As much as I dislike the Skins, I think they have the personnel to do it. :thumb:

Really?? The Skins? It'll be a minor miracle if the Skins manage to get out of the basement this year. The Giants/Eagles/Cowboys are all essentially the same, just with the Cowboys being slightly ahead because they won the division last year. But those 3 are pretty much similar teams with the Skins trailing all 3 of them.

Under Shanahan and with McNabb? Not that far fetched.

As much as I love the Eagles, it's the Cowboys division to lose. The other 3 teams are well off the pace where the Cowboys are.

Yes, it is. McNabb can't throw from his back. We heard the same thing when Spurrier came here and when Gibbs was going to make his triumphant return. I guess one of these years the fans will be right, but it's not going to be this year.

Maybe in another division they could possibly, maybe battle for the top spot with some luck. But they have to play the Bitches, Giants and Eagles twice a year. They have some personnel in place, but they are still missing some major pieces. At best I see an 8-8 team (hey, that's an improvement!) and they'll probably finish last or tied for third. They won't be as dreadful as they were last year, but that's not a difficult feat to accomplish. The NFC East is just not the division to be in when you're trying to crawl out from the bottom of the pile.

Eh, things change mighty fast in the NFL these days. Sure the Cowboys look like they could be well ahead of the other two real contenders (just can't see the Skins there right now), especially after how they handled the Eagles at the end of last year. But they did that just one year after the Eagles did the same things to the Cowboys to end that prior year so it only took the Cowboys one year to close the gap. Nobody lasts as favorites very long anymore.

I'd love to see the Skins finish 8-8, but I'm not holding my breath. If they can't dump Haynesworth on someone, the whole year is going to be another circus. The o-line will determin the fate of the team. Okung needs to dominate from day one and hope that Jamal Brown is fully healed.

With all the changes in Washington with Bizzarro McNabb wearing burgundy and gold , I think the biggest change in the league will be the Eagles. No Westbrook, no McNabb, if Kolb isn't the real deal, things could get ugly fast in Philly. Without a proven running game, teams are going to dare him to throw.

The Cowboys and Giants can both suck one.

The Eagles will score lots of points, yes even with Kolb at QB. The problem is the Eagles defense stinks, at all 3 levels too. It stunk last year & they only used the draft to address it.

The Redskins OL is shabby, their RB's are all re-treads & their WR corps is average. Haynesworth still being there isn't going to give their defensive chemistry any love.

The Giants were a freaking train-wreck last year & I don't see them challenging to be a playoff team this year. Too many holes on defense & their OL just collapsed last year. Brandon Jacobs has never really taken over after Tiki left.

That leaves the Cowboys, and believe me, I am not a Cowboys fan in the least, I'm not a fan of their WR's but they have solid OL, RB & TE play & they give Romo time to throw, something the other 3 teams can't say. Their defense is just as good, if not better than the rest of the division as well.

Collectively, this is the worst I can remember the NFC East ever being.

With Okung and Brown, the tackles are a big upgrade. Dockery and Rabbach are better than average, though getting older. How fast Okung adapts to the NFL and whether or not Brown is 100% healthy are at question. Last year was a massive injury rotation that I've never seen before.

The progression of Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly's play at WR are just about the only positive to come out of the Redskins 2009 season.

Actually I liked the Williams pick over Okung. It's just that everyone thought Okung was the pick for weeks before hand, I forgot the went with Williams.

Likewise, I'm glad Okung fell to us... worked out well in the end.

I'm a lifelong Cowboys' fan, but I abhor Jerry Jones and Tony Romo. Overall, I think they have the talent to compete for a SB. I think they'll lock up the division, but if not, they'll at least have a WC. History shows that sometimes a WC is enough to not only get to but win the SB.

But if I had the money to pull it off, I'd replace Romo with Danny White in a heartbeat.

Williams get's schooled week 1, McNabb breaks (insert bone of choice here).

Standard Operating Procedure for McNabb. Skins did upgrade their O-line, but it might take a few games for them to click. McNabb can't take the beatings Campbell took, he's Samuel Jackson in "Unbreakable."

no break, it'll be that sports hernia again. Jason Campbell was a pro at taking beatings, I had a friend that played at Auburn with him and some of the stories about how he looked after games: :o

While the o-line was beyond bruised and battered, Campbell is to blame for more than a few of his sacks. MF'er was more concerned about throwing picks that taking sacks. Once you are out of the pocket, it IS perfectly legal to throw the ball away.

Skins will be a vastly improved team, and will have the best defense in the conference. The O Line is upgraded, and we finally are rid of the bum that is Jason Candle. One of the worst QB's I've ever witnessed. Chris Cooley will have a big bounce back year with McNabb.
