Brett Favre has informed the Vikings that he will not return for another season in Minnesota, the Star-Tribune reported Tuesday.

Favre has sent text messages to teammates saying, "This is it," league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

He'll end up reporting 3 days before the season opener.

Bank on it.

This should have been titled "2010 Favre retirement v. 1.0". :D

Has he said he is retiring from football and the NFL? Or has he only said that he is done playing in Minnesota? Sounds like he is still leaving himself an out to play somewhere else....

How can he keep doing this? He must have Childress in on it. How can Childress continue to prepare to play with one QB only to have Favre unretire last minute? He must know.

Last year on the Farvre reality show, it was 21 days from his announced retirement to when he reported to the Vikings. He's just skipping camp, ESPN is having a slow day otherwise. :coffee:

Could be. I'm playing with the Packers in the franchise mode on Madden 10. Aaron Rodgers will be high on my fantasy draft boards this year.

Since you are so good at math...what is the bet and what for? I would like to take this offer.

Apparently to work for ESPN you need to sign some pledge declaring Favre the greatest QB of all time - both Golic and Hoge went on the record last night calling him the greatest of all time. Such drivel. :ohno:

Favre is a jackass, I think he got jealous of all the attention Lebron got. Seriously he just needs to make a decision, whether he is not coming back or coming to play a few games. I don't care how great the guy is, giving him that much control is ridiculous.

Doesn't sound like this was coming from Favre, much like last year and the previous year, ESPN making stuff up to get people to watch and put their football reporters to work.
