This is effin' hilarious....not sure how a pitcher like this can possibly get to where they're at with this level of ability....

what's funny is that as soon as you see the first pitch you KNOW what's coming...but it's like watching a train wreck....you just can't pull yourself away....

Total mental thing. Once the guy f'ed the first pitch he was doomed.

Reminds me of my days as pitcher in winter little league. The limit for pitchers was 2 innings, and every single game I managed at least 5 strikeouts, usually 6, to end the game. I think it was because I was a leftie and I didn't throw nearly as hard (hehe) as the rightie pitcher that always pitched before me. Anyhoo, one game the ump called a balk on me. I was like "what the fuck is a balk?" So since I didn't know what it was, of course I balked again. And again. The coach even came out to the pitcher's mound a couple times to try and teach me. Didn't work. I ended up balking 6 or 7 batters in a row, ultimately losing the game for us. Of course it didn't help that the umpire was an ASSHOLE. It kind of made me feel better that the parents/coaches from both teams were really laying into him for the rest of the game.

did the UMP ever explain what you were doing wrong? Or was is simply a part of your mechanics that you couldn't change on the fly?

Reminds me of Mets catcher Mackey Sasser who couldn't throw the ball back to the pitcher.

No, he never explained anything to me other than to point at me when I did it and yell 'Balk!'. The cunt. But seeing as I was super flustered, it definitely wasn't something in my mechanics I was going to be able to change that night! I was fine after our next practice, I never balked again. Of course, we never saw that ump again either. :?
