SH is planning a mini-comeback

Great things for SH coming up.

An alumni football game between my alma mater and our cross-town rivals is scheduled for 23 Sep. SH is on the roster. At this point, it looks like I'm the starting K/P by default, though I may get some time at QB as well. I'll keep you posted on the results, and perhaps even how practices go.

Good luck. I hope you have a great time. Also, like Ursus said, keep us updated. :thumb:

Will you be the only girl on the team, or is this co-ed type of deal with equal representation?

We have no girls on this team, SE. I was denied permission to recruit a World Championship Gold Medalist because she didn't play for Lodi High. Rats!

We do have a girl in the Bay Area who was the best football player at my grade school, but she hasn't responded to the possibility of coming home to beat Tokay.

They had the crazy idea of holding practices Sat and Sun mornings. Given that they acknowledge people's schedules, I'll practice Sat and skip Sun because they want to do it during church. A few of the others get around that by going to churches with evening services, but mine deleted that several years ago.

I couldn't see over the blinking line. Which stinks because we had NO line!!! (We were running skelly today since it was just the first practice.) So unless I'm handing off, I'm going to have to roll out. I took a few snaps at TB and did OK until I started losing my balance before even being touched. On defense, it looks like I'm back to NT. The special rules allow up to four rushers, ALL of whom are required to assume a 3- or 4-point stance, which rules out the 6-2 defense we dominated Tokay with a dozen years ago. (I played defensive guard back then.) I REALLY think I'm going to be better off kicking....

Due to city incompetence in scheduling the replacement of our grass with FieldTurf, the Alumni Game is in jeopardy. Or, at least the date and location are. In fact, both local high schools (which share the historic Grape Bowl) are on alert to play out their ENTIRE seasons on the road.

For the Alumni Game, we're looking at Sat 09 OCT in Galt, about half an hour away. No stadia closer are available. I guess UOP's rent was too high....

I kinda figured you for a receiver somehow.

I'm slow as molasses and currently have a problem changing direction. (My jacked up knee.) If I play offense at all, it pretty much HAS to be at QB (with a curtailed playbook). The guys wanna run this crazy counter trap option I've never seen before that requires the QB to essentially spin on a dime. The one time I tried it (in 7-on-7), the only option I had was to hit the hole because the pitch man was long gone. I've run option out of I or broken-I pretty much my whole life, but THIS is one of those no-can-do's. How they think they can run ANY option without setting it up with FB dive I have no clue....

Man, I hate Wing-T, Double Wing, and everything associated with them. Give me I and/or West Coast any day of the week....

As much as I'd like to be at HC, SD, I don't think we have to worry about a loss like that one year when we scheduled Montana for HC. Who the cr@p is dumb enough to do THAT?!?
