My best guesses for Team USA are that Brazil will be our best in-Group competition, while Spain will be the only other danger once we leave pool play.

Any objections to that?

Spain hasn't looked real impressive as of yet.

Also, while this obviously isn't our "A" team, there is a hell of a lot of talent on the team. We are the most talented team over there, as long as no one gets egocentric we should walk away with this thing. With Durant leading the team (I love Durant's attitude and game), I can't see that being an issue.

We have already easily beat Spain last week. And they do not have Pau Gasol.

Half court offense was awful today. Seems like we are really fighting the urge to play street ball at times, and that doesn't work against decent teams.

That's the danger when you run the hoops operation the way we do.

If we ran it along the same paradigm that soccer does (players are constantly available for occasional call-up for friendlies and tournaments, even if there's a schedule conflict with their pro team), they could work offense and defense and not worry about that degeneration into street ball.

Just saying....

USA B has the best player in the world. I've been saying it all year, it will become more apparent over the next year or so that Kevin Durant is the best player in a media deprived city (at least compared to NY & LA).

Durant is probably top 3 or 5 player in the NBA, and yes i believe that.

The issue other teams have with this B roster of ours won't be the starters can't match up (which they can't but can keep it respectable). It will be the fact that our 6-10 guys are still going to be one of the top 3 or 4 players on all the other teams.

Kevin Durant is dominant. He had the best single college season I have seen in my lifetime in his one year at Texas.

He has really picked up steam the last two years in the NBA. He is definitely a top 5 player.

The rest of the team though, is still the team USA JV team.

Agreed.

However, our JV team is most countries A-Team and 6th man.

ha, spain.

Anyone see the comments that russia's coach made? Something about how Russia was the rightful winner in the '72 olympic gold screwjob game against the US.

I'm sure Coach K will take that into consideration when we play them.
