U.S. Soccer announced today that it had agreed to a four-year contract extension with Bob Bradley, the coach of the men’s national team, that will keep him at the helm through the 2014 World Cup.

Bradley, the subject of much discussion on this blog and in the pages of The Times, led the Americans to the second round of the World Cup this summer in South Africa. But while he did exactly what he was hired to do, he also regularly faced criticism for everything from his no-nonsense manner to his player selection to his in-game decision-making. There was also a considerable push in some quarters — as recently as last week, according to some reports — for U.S. Soccer to let Bradley go and bring in a foreign coach to move the team forward

Haha, I was about to post this. Now we're going have to suffer through another four years of nepotism accusations and general hatred for not having a European accent. Fucking USSF

Hey, I have an idea... let's start Ricardo Clark in the...

wait, no, that's not a good idea.

Let's start Robbie Findley at the...

no, that's not good either.

Remind me again why we hired/extended this guy again? He can prove to me that he belongs as the manager if he'd START FEILHABER once in a while in a match that actually mattered, for starters.

When we didn't have 2 strikers worth playing, we shouldn't have been throwing MLS "All-Stars" up there and trying to make things happen. He made poor personnel decisions every game, and the team never seemed ready for anything.

This fucking sucks. I hate the politics and lovefest going on with the USMNT. The guy doesn't know what he is doing at this level, plain and simple. The guy has no connection with 'his' (and I use that term loosely since he is not very well respected) players, let alone any connection or know-how with the development of the game below USMNT level.

I was really hoping he would go to Aston Villa and get his ass handed to him for a season or two.
