So, the husband of one of my wife's friends invites me to their church's fantasy football draft this evening. This was down in Milton, DE, pretty much in the heart of Slower Delaware and boy if it wasn't a serious bumpkin fest. There were quite a few less-than-32-toothers in the house.

They had 16 people, so they split into two eight-team leagues and did a live draft for each.

Holy Jesus (no pun intended) were these people stupider than shit. I think they exhausted the entire rosters of the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens before the fourth round.

Here was what I ended up with:

QB:
Philip Rivers
Tom Brady

RB:
Chris Johnson
Maurice Jones-Drew
Beanie Wells
LeSean McCoy

WR:
Andre Johnson
Larry Fitzgerald
Brandon Marshall
Roddy White

TE:
Dallas Clark
Tony Gonzalez

K:
Nate Kaeding
Matt Prater

DST:
Eagles
Cowboys

Get rid of Beanie Wells and you might compete for a championship.

Kidding, kidding. At least you can say you won, right? You just don't tell people who you were playing against.

Have they given you the trophy yet 93, or is it just a formality? Jeez that's a strong team. I have my draft tonight, and I kept that Flacco kid who played for some championship wannabe team.

8 team leagues? Geesh, why even bother. 10 team leagues are too small as even then everyone gets great teams. 12 team leagues is the way to play.

I agree with GF, 8 teams is a joke. But your team is riddiculous.

I had mine last night. I got hammered afterward and definately did NOT go to a strip joint afterward. Regardless of what any of you hear.

Our draft is at 0500 tomorrow. In an 8 team league, 3 people have joined. I'm sure i'll have a strong team. I really don't care, I don't follow the NFL.

I didn't even know they had leagues that small - like I said, anything under 10 is a joke. You guys either need to make more friends or see about merging leagues.

I'm absolutely a fan of the 12 team league, but I really had no choice in this particular matter. What was I supposed to say? You people are idiots and I'm never coming back to your church basement for this silly league again?
