Ryder Cup
America is getting WORKED by Europe today. We lead after day 1, 6-4, but are behind in every single match today, including Tiger Woods/Steve Stricker who are an astonishing 5 down after 7 holes.

I'm watching it on TV, but their official website shows the same thing. Are they delaying the website too?

Re: Ryder Cup
I got my info from espn.com
Re: Ryder Cup
the 6-4 score shown on ESPN only takes into account the first two sessions (whether that all took place on day one, I have no clue).
but the Europe teams are up in all matches of Session 3, at least as far as ESPN has updated. Again, I have no clue if those matches are still underway, or if play was suspended due to darkness and will be resumed tommorrow (however that translates to Wales time)

This. The didn't get any of the matches finished yesterday, so they finished those this morning and then played session two midday today and then started session three and had to stop for darkness. They finish those matches tomorrow morning and then have the singles matches in the afternoon. I got up at 5am this morning to watch some of the action. Course looks gorgeous and weather was perfect today.JayJ79 wrote:the 6-4 score shown on ESPN only takes into account the first two sessions (whether that all took place on day one, I have no clue).

Re: Ryder Cup
Congrats to the Euros. McDowell was spectacular this morning.

I'm just shocked at the HORRIBLE online coverage of this event. What was the final score?

Re: Ryder Cup
Horrible coverage in general.89Hen wrote:I'm just shocked at the HORRIBLE online coverage of this event. What was the final score?

Hey, I know we're not the center of the world, but when it comes to TV revenue... we are. There is no way in hell they should have played this thing in Wales in October. If they have it in July/August, they can play until 9pm their time which at least gets it to 5pm EST. Not to mention they were up against the NFL and the final weekend of MLB play with two divisions up in the air. ALSO, I have to imagine the weather might have been a little better in the summer.clenz wrote:Horrible coverage in general.89Hen wrote:I'm just shocked at the HORRIBLE online coverage of this event. When the Cup is in the US, Europe gets to watch it in prime time. We got to get up at 3am if we wanted to see live action.

You should telework.89Hen wrote:I'm just shocked at the HORRIBLE online coverage of this event. What was the final score?
Quick summary: When I flipped over to USA network, McDowell and Mahan were on 16, the teams were tied, and McDowell was 1 up. McDowell made a 15-ft downhill birdie putt to go 2 up and the crowd erupted. Then on 17, Par 3, McDowell hit one right of the hole and it nearly rolled downhill off the green into a bunker but barely held onto the lip of the fringe (pardon any botched terms, golf ain't my sport). Mahan came up short in front of the green and had a bit of a hill to chip up and over. Mahan then blew it my failing to get his chip over the hill. It was all over after that. Final hole was not necessary. Euros were chanting "ole, ole, ole" et cetera.
