Re: World Series
Either Philly option leads to great subplots - the Yanks and the Phils in a rematch of last year or the Phils playing Cliff Lee and having Hallday face Lee everytime they start. As long as it's Philly it's all good!

Phils - Yanks. Without question.

The Phillies are the next Atlanta Braves of the 90's and 00's.GannonFan wrote:Either Philly option leads to great subplots - the Yanks and the Phils in a rematch of last year or the Phils playing Cliff Lee and having Hallday face Lee everytime they start. As long as it's Philly it's all good!

Shoot, the Phillies have already lost 3 WS in my lifetime.JoltinJoe wrote:The Phillies are the next Atlanta Braves of the 90's and 00's.
Phillies 2 WS - 3 losses
Flyers 2 SC - 6 losses
76ers 1 NBA - 5 losses
Eagles 0 SB - 2 losses
That's 5 trophies and 16 championship losses. Maybe other fans now understand why it's been so hard being a Philly fan.

Re: World Series
While I'd like to see San Fran vs New York, it'll probably be a rematch of last year.

Hell, I was 25 before the Phillies ever won a WS (ok, 24 & 10, months but close enough). I started watching/following them the year of their "great collapse." I can handle the WS losses (so I lie). Just seeing them get there this much is a major achievement to me.

Re: World Series
On the sports talk shows today, they were discussing that if the Yankees win the ALCS, and Philly wins the NLCS, that the Yankees would be considered the underdogs.

Re: World Series
Maybe so, but I'll never consider a team with $60M higher payroll to be an underdog. They are the evil empire after all.Gil Dobie wrote:On the sports talk shows today, they were discussing that if the Yankees win the ALCS, and Philly wins the NLCS, that the Yankees would be considered the underdogs.
