Not surpised he won, am a bit surprised it was unanimous... would have figured ateast a St Louis voter would have gone with Wainwright. But good to see all the voters got it right.

He ties Tom Glavine for most seasons between Cy Young Award wins.

What a joke. Should have gone to Jeter.

These darn sabermetrics these days - they don't properly take into account Jeter's ability to help pitchers on other teams in other leagues. At least all true fans, and guys who played baseball past little league, understand that Halladay pretty much owes this one to Jeter.

Hey GannonGeek, you cannot even explain how "Zone Rating" or "Ultimate Zone Rating" is calculated.

Don't have to - I know any failings of Jeter are due to Yankee pitchers - you said so.

Halladay deserved it, and the St Louis voters did the responsible thing.

Congrats on a great season, post-season no-hitter and the Cy Young award.

Halladay, when asked about the AL Cy Young, said what I've been saying all along:
I asked Halladay about this on his conference call Tuesday, figuring his opinion would be revealing. It was, and I think it reflects the majority opinion of people in uniform. That is, wins still matter a lot.
“It’s tough,” Halladay said. “Obviously Felix’s numbers are very, very impressive. But I think, ultimately, you look at how guys are able to win games. Sometimes the run support isn’t there, but you sometimes just find ways to win games. I think the guys that are winning and helping their teams deserve a strong look, regardless of how good Felix’s numbers are. It definitely could go either way; it’s going to be interesting. But I think when teams bring guys over, they want them to, ultimately at the end of the day, help them win games.”
