He is reportedly close to a 2 year $30 million extension with the Yankees... and according to reports is leaving $21 million on the table by staying with the Yankees.
Reports are that the Boston Red Sox have offered Rivera a 3 year deal worth $17 million per season.
There is one other team believed to be offering a three year deal as well.

Good for him. I know its still good money and don't like the Yankees but I love to see a top player (or any player) play his whole career for one team

yup. i respect guys who leave lots of money on the table to stay with a team.
Had the Red Sox been able to convince him to sign, they would have non tendered Papelbon last night....
