you really are a special kind of retarded... you really don't get Minnesotans at all.

we're the people who invented bringing the hip flask to the old met... and with 8 bars within two blocks - there will be plenty of drink flowing.

this whole event is going to be a cluster-fuck, but it's also going to be a hell of a fun time. the game on the field won't matter nearly as much as 50,000 people outside partying in the winter time...

for God's sake, we have a winter carnival in february - complete with an ice castle - doing this shit in spite of the winter is half the point.

i was down in stadium village a few hours ago - there were hundreds of people in the stands shoveling them out - looked like they were going to be done by tomorrow, rate they were going. the enthusiasm for outdoor football is going to trump any of the other factors...

And maybe this will spur an outdoor stadium for the Vikes. Do what the Seahawks did - blow up the old stadium. Play two years at Minnesota (adding an endzone temp), build a new stadium on the site of the MetroDump

sadly - no.

i've got sources all over this thing and i'm hearing it's not going well - it was early in the week - but things have taken a turn.

moreover - they will NEVER build the Vikes an outdoor stadium. hard enough to justify building an indoor facility that can be used for other things - the dome is in use more than 200 days/year because of that roof (and when the Twins were there it was 300 days/yr in use or transition) - that helps justify the cost...

but a building only used 10 days/year by a professional sports team isn't going to fly in this state... hell, it took 10 years to get target field approved...

Well put TTBF, some just don't understand the embracing your surroundings and enjoying it. I've never heard a great game story about watching a game in front of the TV set and you can't be seen as a fan willing to go that little extra when your sitting in a climate controlled environment. There is some fun in "toughing it out" that he seems to be missing.

Seating for the game has been announced as first-come-first-serve, general admission. Lines will form 3 hours prior to the game. What a way for the Vikings to end an era in Minnesota before moving to LA.

The Vikings game were terrible to go to with all the drunks. I never failed to see some young kid or elderly person get a beer shower. I've been to an equal number of games at Lambeau and the Metrodome, and the Vikings fans are the worst. Packers seats are the same people every game, mostly happy drunks that take care of their beer drinking with friends and family. Vikings fans are angry drunks, spilling all over the place, not caring about the people around them.
