Tarkenton wouldn't have been any good without one Bud Grant. Witness his short excursion to NYGTown.
Eller, Foreman, Marshall, and Page were pretty good, too.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

His 5 year excursion to the Giants? In which he made the probowl 4 times? You could say that about a lot of QBs, they wouldn't have been as good without such-and-such. Eh, I guess a Top 10 all time QB is nothing without a coach...especially considering the two years after Tarkenton left for NY, the Vikes stunk and that upon his return he took them to three straight superbowls.

Make that three out of four. The Cowboys snuck in there.

Re: 50 Greatest Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings made the playoffs 4 straight years prior to Tarkenton's return with 1 Super Bowl appearance. Then missed the playoffs his first year back. Then made the playoffs and lost 3 more Super Bowls in his last 6 years.JMU DJ wrote:SuperHornet wrote:

Man, Tarkenton sucked...even vikings fans make him sound like Rex Grossman.
... I forgot about the litany of other Vikings QB greats who have led them to multiple Superbowls. Not only that, but the other Viking QB greats who won a Superbowl for them.
