Why not tomorrow night? I'm guessing TV, and that is a shitty reason.UNHWildCats wrote:Game has been postponed.

Maybe the stadium needs the extra day to dig out?BlueHen86 wrote:Why not tomorrow night? I'm guessing TV, and that is a shitty reason.UNHWildCats wrote:Game has been postponed.

Yep, no way they're going to go up against ATL-NO.BlueHen86 wrote:Why not tomorrow night? I'm guessing TV, and that is a shitty reason.UNHWildCats wrote:Game has been postponed.

ESPN has exclusive rights and trust me it is a great idea to move it Tuesday. ESPN would allow the game to be on only NBC stations based in PA or MN and the NFL Sunday Ticket.BlueHen86 wrote:Why not tomorrow night? I'm sure that the Eagles are thrilled to have a short week heading into their last game of the regular season. They are still fighting for a first round bye in the playoffs.FargoBison wrote:ESPN has exclusive rights and trust me it is a great idea to move it Tuesday. It benefits NBC and fans outside the Philly and Minnesota TV markets who want to see Vick. Yeah, Philly fans and the Eagles, not so much.BlueHen86 wrote:I'm sure that the Eagles are thrilled to have a short week heading into their last game of the regular season. If the game were tomorrow, it would still be televised here (Southeastern PA). Hard to see how this decision benefits the Eagles or most of their fans.
If it wasnt a National Game they probably would go Monday, but since its an NBC game they have the rights to having it shown nationally and ESPN has the rights to Monday night Nationally.BlueHen86 wrote:Why not tomorrow night? I get that. I understand why they are doing it. I just don't like it.UNHWildCats wrote:If it wasnt a National Game they probably would go Monday, but since its an NBC game they have the rights to having it shown nationally and ESPN has the rights to Monday night Nationally.BlueHen86 wrote:

Gotta hope the Jets can hold on vs Chicago and the Eagles win out for the first round bye.
The last tuesday night game involved the Boston Yanks93henfan wrote:Was listening to WIP and they said it's the first Tuesday game in the NFL since the 1940s.
Per NFL.com, the Yanks were shut out by NYG 17-0 on Tues, 01 OCT 1946.UNHWildCats wrote:The last tuesday night game involved the Boston Yanks93henfan wrote:Was listening to WIP and they said it's the first Tuesday game in the NFL since the 1940s.![]()

Getting shut out ALWAYS rates a puke emoticon....
Yes, there's always that....UNHWildCats wrote:Boston and Yanks in the same name rates it more lolSuperHornet wrote:

I'm not so sure. The AFL and CFL have had games on odd days for years, and the NFL did back in the day, but they abandoned that. I've never been sure as to why. I'd love to see such odd-day games EXCEPT for Fridays, which should be exclusively held for HS games.Wedgebuster wrote:Should there be lofty TV ratings, and there will be, look for NFL night games to expand to other nights of the week in coming seasons.![]()
There's a reason there isn't a single top-tier professional sports team in that state. No one in their right mind would live there.Gil Dobie wrote:They would have played the game if it was in IOWA with that little snow fall, if IOWA had an NFL team.
See my post in the MVP thread. The only dose of reality the Eagles got last night is that they just aren't all that good. They've been manhandled for seven of their last eight quarters. The injuries on defense are glaring. The offensive line only has to show up with Vick behind them, and they didn't even do that last night. The Eagles will not advance past the divisional round, and I am not confident they can beat either the Giants (for a third time) or the Packers (who humiliated them once already) in the wild card game.bandl wrote:What the fuck was THAT last night?? The Eagles looked flat and played like doo-doo. They played themselves out of a bye in the playoffs. And Vick played himself out of the MVP race (although I'm always one to argue that individual awards are meaningless in the grand-scheme of things when it comes to team sports).
I think this will be a good thing for the Eagles though...a little dose of reality before the playoffs to let them know that they need to prep 100% and play 100% and blah blah blah.
Hmmm....interesting point of view. Admittedly (sp?), up until last night I haven't watched alot of the Eagles this year, other than their loss to, and waxing of, the Skins, along with bits here and there. So I won't argue your point, unless you really want me to which will probably end up in some sort of hijack with pictures of hot girls covered in butter or something. But to me they look like an all-around 'decent' team, with an automatic upgrade to 'really good' with Vick. I have to say though that just about any team will look good to me after a while when I have to watch the Skins week in and week out (I haven't missed watching a game yet this year....fuck knows why).93henfan wrote:See my post in the MVP thread. ANd as a football fan in general, you are correct. That was about as painful a football game to watch as I've seen in a long time. Nobody wanted to win, except the Vikings QB.
