Give me a break. How do you justify that ignorant remark? You can't know before hiring someone if they're going to be good or not. You have to give them a chance.DJH wrote:Singletary should have never been a head coach. He is terrible.

In THIS case, it's not his coaching. It's his being made a scapegoat for the failure of the front office to sign decent players. While I've always felt he'd be a better fit as HC in CHI, two years is nowhere near enough time to make this sort of decision. Panicky firings like this only serve to lengthen the time in the cellar because there is no continuity.

You just put together the most retarded list of options I've ever seen when considering who the 49ers should consider.SuperHornet wrote:I think Singletary will be the next coach in Chicago. For the Whiners?
I have no clue, but I'd love for them to consider the following:
1. John Volek, AD Sierra College
2. John Fassel, Special Teams Coordinator Oakland Raiders
3. Mike Canales, OC and Associate Head Coach, North Texas

This epic failure falls on the coach. Normally I'll defend a coach because the players still have to make plays but damn.SuperHornet wrote:Give me a break. How do you justify that ignorant remark? By THAT argument, clenz, the Whiners may NEVER have won even ONE Super Bowl. Bill Walsh was 2-14 his first year. The typical thing nowadays is to can ANY coach after 2-14....clenz wrote:This epic failure falls on the coach. It's clear Singletary couldn't get through to the players. His style of coaching, his methods, his system, everything that was him failed. He took one of the more talented teams and had them finish sub .500, and in a decent division they were eliminated from playoffs 4 weeks ago. The only reason he kept his long as he did because he could still say "We can still make the playoffs" because he was in the worst division in football. The winner of the division can have 7 wins...yep a 7-9 team can win the division and host a playoff game. The best possible record to come from the division will be the ST. LOUIS RAMS, who have started a rookie at QB all season long, at 8-8 if they win next Sunday night.
This is his 3rd season as head coach. He went:SuperHornet wrote:By THAT argument, clenz, the Whiners may NEVER have won even ONE Super Bowl. Bill Walsh was 2-14 his first year.
