Just signed a 5 year deal. If nothing else, it will be fun having him and Pete Carroll in the same division again.

I didn't see his presser but I have heard that he looked extremely disinterested. Is that true?

No kidding.

While I'm as proud a 49er fan as any, it got to the point where it was almost embarrassing to admit it.

One of my good friends is a die hard Niner fan (and me of course a diehard Hawks fan), so we get into it all the time. He was adamant that the Niners were going to finish with a better record than the Hawks... and SF was 1-6 or whatever it was at the time. So of course I bet him $50 that they wouldn't. Motherfucker should be paying up any day now.

SE174,

First, congrats on the EWU championship! Now, i'm pulling for Seattle for the remainder of the playoffs just so people will shut up about the NFC West but next year I see SF winning the west with at least 12 wins (if we stay at 16 games) and a first round bye.

Thanks DK. Nothing could be greater than the remote chance of Seattle making it to the SB, along with the Stealers, and Seattle beating the piss out of them. That would be the dream scenario. As for the Niners next year... they've got a lot of good players, but you guys really need to get a QB. I think Harbaugh is a great hire, but I think he's gonna need a year or two to be winning that many. Same with Carroll... he just came in at the right time when the whole West was down, and did what he could, which was just enough. Rams are gonna be tough for years to come... should be an up and coming division in the next couple years.

I agree, I was joking about he 12 wins next year. I think he will turn things around and if we get a good QB (Newton, Gabbert, Locker, Mallett) I think we have enough talent to finish above .500 in 2011 for the first time since 2002.

As much as I don't like Cam Newton as a college quarterback, I would love to see him in a 49ers uniform. I doubt he'd fit the Harbaugh mold, though.
