All-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman signed with San Diego today, rejoining the organization that made him famous. Now retired, Hoffman will work in the Padres' front office.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I thought it was going to be a one day contract so he could say he finished his playing career as a Padre. 
Great PR move. The Padres are going to need to do whatever they can to sell tickets this season with trading away Gonzo and all.
