Sac Kings to move? City response?

CBS-13 in Sac is speculating about a potential Kings move to the Pond. Mayor Kevin Johnson does not expect to sit still. He may already be courting other teams. Per 13, there are FOUR teams that may be near a move themselves who MIGHT be interested in Sac. Two have moved before, so ANOTHER move wouldn't be surprising. One is mighty interesting, indeed.
Atlanta Hawks
Memphis Grizzlies
Indiana Pacers
New Orleans Hornets

team moves out - another won't move in...
doesn't work that way...
somebody is moving to Kansas City... either in MLB or NHL... just a question of who and when.

Auburn (VERY close to Sac) produced former American record-holder Stacy Dragila, one of the pioneers of women's pole vault.
Sac State produced one of the best OLs in history in John Gesek.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't KC already have a AAA team?

I know they did... much like the Coyotes seem destined to return from whence they came in the NHL (back to Winnipeg) the Kings moving back to KC would be a nice little closing of a circle.

Not so fast. Before KC, they were in Cincinnati and Rochester.

also aware of that... but since Rochester is slowly turning in to a ghost town, and Cincinnati's best arena isn't fit for D-League games...
